Vera Jones
Hi, I’m Vera Jones, and I serve as the Children’s Director here at One City Church. My role involves providing a transformational experience for our kids from ages 6 weeks to 5th grade and their families.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Terrance Jones for 17 years. We have three beautiful daughters and a Great Dane named Bane. We are a retired Air Force family and have lived in the Virginia Beach area since 2016. Before landing in Virginia Beach, we spent a couple years in my home state of Idaho, 5 years in central California and 3 years in the DC area.
One of my favorite parts of being at One City Church is the sense of family and belonging that is experienced the moment you pull into the parking lot.
When I’m not leading our kid’s ministry, you might find me cooking, reading, or spending time with my family.
A Bible verse that inspires me in both my personal and professional life is Psalm 100:5 which reads “For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” NLT This verse has been so prevalent in my life the last couple of years because God has been so faithful in every part of my life and has shown me His faithfulness in other’s lives as well. Because of God’s faithfulness, my ability to step out in faith on so many things in my life has reached a new level.
Looking ahead, I’m so excited to see God continue to move in the lives of our kids and their families. I am excited to see how God will continue to show Himself faithful by transforming the relationships our kids have with Him, and the expectations that our kids and families have of their faith journey.
